During the year April 2021 – March 2022, over 750 individuals benefited from Sherburn House Charity Relief in Need grants and support. 20% of the grants were awarded to people affected by health issues, including serious illnesses, 10% were affected by domestic violence and poverty or disadvantage was the main issue affecting 15% of recipients. 35% of the primary beneficiaries of such grants were children and young people.
During the year April 2022 – March 2023, over 600 individuals benefited from Sherburn House Charity Relief in Need grants and support. 20% of the grants supported people with mental health issues, and just under 10% supported victims of crime or abuse. Health issues (including serious illness), domestic violence and poverty were the main issues affecting applicants. 40% of the primary beneficiaries of such grants were children and young people.

This is the final year that we will be working with County Durham Community Foundation on the Relief in Need Project, thanks to all at the Foundation who managed and supported the fund over the past 5 years. The matched funding was fabulous contribution to the Charity’s beneficiaries and we thank everyone who supported this partnership over the years.
The grants programme is now closed whilst Trustees finalise the details for the 2024 – 2025 allocation. Further details will be published soon.
